Transgenic quails

|PGK:H2B-chFP-TG (chPF)|

PGK:H2B-chFP-TG (chPF)

Origin
Transgenic quail expressing a fluorescent protein (chFP) created in the Rusty Lansford lab at the University of Southern California.(Sato et al., 2010, Sato & Lansford, 2013). Introduced from Kyushu University with permission from the creator.
The chFP protein gene used to create this TG quail was a direct gift from its creator, Dr. Roger Tsien (California State University, San Diego).
Characteristics
plumage and colors: wild-type plumage
wild-type colored egg
body weight: adult male:- g
adult female:- g
This line was established by lentivirus vector (PGK1::H2B-chFP expressing) infection into WJ quails. The ChFP expression is observed almost throughout the body. Inserted genes have been confirmed at multiple locations on the genome, and the observed fluorescence intensity varies from each individual.
