Research filed and interest

This laboratory is involved in studies aiming at understanding the molecular, cellular and physiological basis of viral pathogenesis in insects, with particular interest in the mechanism of host range determination of the viruses. One of the objectives of these studies is to develop effective and safe viral pesticides through genetic engineering.

Research interests:

  1. Insect-virus interactions.
  2. Development and utilization of insect virus properties

Current research projects:

  1. Molecular mechanisms of host range determination of nucleopolyhedroviruses
  2. Molecular mechanisms of anti-viral responses of insects against nucleopolyhedroviruses
  3. Basic studies on the development of nucleopolyhedroviruses as efficacious insecticides
