Molecular genetics, developmental genetics, quantitative genetics and population genetics are studied with farm animals, their relative wild species and laboratory animals (mice, musk shrews and chikens).

Current research projects are;

1. Evaluation, conservation and utilization of animal genetic resources in Asia.
2. Development of new laboratory animal models for human diseases and biological functions.
3. Understanding the genetic basis of quantitative traits of agricultural and medical importance.
